Aiming at a higher negotiation power, costs reduction, purchases standardization, and

the small Unimeds access to large suppliers, the Unimed System cooperatives participate

in joint purchase negotiations. With respect to joint medication purchases, Unimed do

Brasil, through the Medication Purchase Center (Compramed) has been strengthening its

partnership with suppliers seeking negotiations generating better results for the Unimed

System. In this contexts, the own network hospitals union to make joint purchases adds

competitive advances by making it possible to decrease purchase values due to the nego-

tiated volume, supply frequency, inventories and storage costs reduction.

In 2014 eight meetings were organized with 24 suppliers, and 150 medications

(oncologic, immunologic, antibiotic, among other categories) were negotiated,

providing estimated savings of

R$ 3.2 million

, based on the average price of the

54 hospitals composing the Hospital Group of Compramed.

Negotiations of oral oncologic medications, which have been included as a

mandatory coverage in the ANS List, generated a

9.10%

saving, despite the price

adjustment determined at the beginning of the year (an average of 2.01%).

Other nationwide negotiations coordinated by Unimed do Brasil involve

influenza vaccines, white and recycled A4 paper, diaries, notepads, calendars

2015 and giveaways for the Soccer World Cup held in Brazil. The highest saving

was with influenza vaccines, amounting to 22%, or R$ 679,244.00.
